Difficulty levels

Easy: words read left to right and top to bottom only. Good for early readers.
Medium: adds diagonals.
Hard: every direction including backwards. Fill letters are random, so no accidental words.

Tips for a good puzzle

10 to 20 words on a 15 x 15 grid is the classic classroom size. Auto grid sizing keeps letter density sensible.
Spaces, hyphens and apostrophes are removed inside the grid ("ice cream" becomes ICECREAM) but the word bank keeps your spelling.
Generate several puzzles from the same list for differentiated groups: each set code gives a different layout.
